About CleanGen

Houston based CleanGen LLC is a Clean Energy & Low Carbon Solutions Project Development and Consulting Company with top tier internal EPCm/Technical, Commercial, Regulatory and overall Project Management capabilities.   Our focus is on highly modularized project designs which are based on the best commercially available technologies to reduce energy costs and CO2 emissions.   For over 30 years our team has led and participated in well over 100 Clean Energy and Low Carbon Solutions project evaluations/implementations in the US Gulf Coast, California, Alaska, Midwest, Rockies and Alberta.

Houston based CleanGen was established in 2009 by principals Ben Harris (President) and Mike Kemp (Exec Vice President Engineering). Mike is also President and owner of established engineering firm HCS Group in Houston, which provides most of CleanGen's engineering support.  Ben  has the unique background of more than 15 years as geologist and E&P executive with Amoco, plus over 15 years with BP and CleanGen directing technical and commercial teams focused on delivering high value energy supply and CO2 EOR/sequestration solutions that are tightly integrated with existing Oil and Gas operations.   Mike's  over 35 years experience has included heading fabrication/field construction with Randall Corporation and Gulsby Engineering of over 50 modular gas processing plants throughout the US and Canada,  Manager with Jacob's Engineering and participation through HCS and CleanGen in a wide variety of energy industry projects, including cogeneration, waste heat recovery, other.    This unique experience set of CleanGen principals, plus similar broad experience of our team inspires new insights on how to add value ....  which others often miss.

Through our CleanGen team's extensive experience, plus ready access through existing relationships to a wide range of experienced on-call resources, we're able to provide a full suite of in-house commercial, regulatory and EPCm capabilities at very competitive costs, with quick turnaround.   CleanGen is flexible on commercial arrangements with the existing site owners, ranging from CleanGen compensation for services only, to co-invester or 100% owner of new facilities.  However, our strong preference, to ensure good alignment and teamwork with site owner, is to partner in some way through co-investment, value sharing or other arrangement appropriate for the work being done.
