Some of the most recent innovations we plan to test/implement, include:
- A new method of CO2 / N2 capture and utilization for EOR -- built on traditional technologies; and
- A creative application of proven technologies to significantly improve heavy oil recoveries from California Diatomite reservoirs, with decreased energy usage and emissions. This innovation was largely derived from our team's past experience with techniques used in other heavy oil provinces as well as our experience with hydrocarbon delivery improvement methods used in the Coalbed Methane (CBM) business.
- A modular, incremental approach for CO2 Capture and Sequestration in California heavy oil operations which:
a. Allows incremental investment aligned with needs and financial capability, without significant loss of scale benefits
b. Provides a clear path for "bolt-on" scaling up of CO2 capture and sequestration when appropriate
c. Provides flexibility to integrate with other renewable and non-renewable energy supplies to achieve best value / emissions reduction balance.
